Europe, a taste for diversity?

DiversityEurope's motto is: "United in diversity". And indeed, diversity has become one of the Union's core values. So what place might a Europe of diversity reserve to its Diasporas? Our first article on this issue will examine European policy regarding the "lesser used" languages of Europe- among which the Armenian language.

A Barcelona Declaration on the Diaporas of Europe

MeetingThe International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation held an international conference entitled ' European citizenship and Diasporas of Europe' on January 27-29, 2005.

Though European and even international by nature, Diasporas are seldom taken on board in the context of European integration.  This was the starting point for this conference, which brought together academics, civil society organisations and political representatives.  The main groups concerned by the event, at this stage, were the a Jewish, Armenian, Rom and Greek diasporas.

Might Europe ban genocide denial?

SpeakerEuropean governments are now grappling to work together against hate speech. For many, including the German govenrment current chairing the EU Council, genocide denial is but a particularly pernicious form of hate speech, and should not be tolerated. A decision may be taken this spring.
