Title: Financing with European Development NGOs Actions in Developing countries
Overall Objectives:
- to reduce poverty through support to disadvantaged people in
developing countries designed to meet their basic needs, to improve the
quality of their lives and to reinforce their own development
capacities.
-to support civil society strengthening and participatory development promotion in partner countries
Deadline: 26 October 2004
Specific objective: to support sustainable social, human,
environmental and economic development and to provide institutional
support and capacity building for local development structures,
including partner organisations in developing countries.
Type of actions:
- actions that support sustainable social, human, environmental and
economic development processes in developing countries and that
mainstream institutional support and capacity building for local
development structures with the aim of improving their internal
organisations, strengthening their financial management capacities and
developing their analytical and advocacy skills.
-actions that support and facilitate either the linking of
relief, rehabilitation and development activities in countries emerging
from a crisis following a natural or man-made disasters or disaster
preparedness and prevention
-actions that are undertaken in countries affected by conflict
and/or where official EC co-operation is suspended, unavailable or
reduced
Actions must be carried out in partnership with a local organisation.
Location: LDC s (Least Developed Countries) and LCI s (Low Income
Countries); Countries with HDI (Human Development Index ranking) over
100; other developing countries where there are many poor or
marginalized groups.
Beneficiaries: an individual NGO with experience in the field, an
NGO consortium or an NGO network registered in the EU, and the majority
of whose financial resources come from Europe.
Minimum and maximum grants:
- actions presented by an individual NGO : max: € 750 000, min. € 50 000
- actions presented by a consortium of NGO s: max: 1 500 000€, min: 250 000€
