Specific objectives:
elaboration and implementation of effective national measures to
combate discrimination on the grounds of racial, ethnic origin or
minority status.
Type of actions:
"Combating racism and Xenophobia":
- support for establishing mechanisms for monitoring acts of discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance;
- support for developing effective administrative and legal procedures to provide redress for victims of racism and xenophobia;
- preparing and introducing teaching materials in schools to
reinforce anti-racism and anti-discrimination, and to raise awareness
about the benefits of diversity between people from different cultures.
"Promoting the rights of Minorities":
- training of community leaders, women and young people;
- helping ethnic minorities to obtain better access to justice;
- increasing the participation of ethnic minorities in public life;
- improving cultural, linguistic and religious rights.
Where appropriate, actions may include providing assistance in
eliminating discrimination through the application of legal and
administrative remedies, lobbying for changes in the law and
administrative practices, as well as awareness-raising activities.
Location:
actions that can cover both of the sub-themes: : Bosnia-Herzegovina, Israel and Serbia-Montenegro.
actions that can cover only the sub-theme "promoting the rights
of the minorities": China, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Nepal, Pakistan
and Turkey.

Min. and Max. grants:
- 300 000 for the applicants having their headquarters in the EU
- 150 000 for the applicants having their headquarters in the others eligible countries
- 500 000
