Promotion of European active citizenship

Support to non-governmental organisations, associations and federations of European interest.

Overall objective: to strenghten the dialogue between the European Union and its citizens with a view to encouraging the emergence of an active anc participatory European citizenship.

Deadline: 30/11/2004

Specific objectives: - to promote rights and duties relating to citizenship of the EU
- to foster ideas to support the integration of citizens residing in a Member State of which they are not nationals
- to promote the future of the EU and of its values internationally, particularly in the context of ongoing intercultural dialogue
- to explore the possibility of the development of a European identity which respects and builds on cultural diversity
- to involve various ethic and/or religious groups in Europe and aim at promote understanding, respect and tolerance between such groups

Type of actions: conferences, seminars, workshops, networking, exchange of experience and best practice, education and training events and strategies and dissemination activities

Location: EU Member States and eligible countries

Beneficiaries: NGO's, associations and federations of European interest

Min. and max. grants: - € 35 000 per project, involving partnerships from one eligible country
- € 70 000 per project, involving partnerships from at least 3 or more eligible countries
